Japanese Kickboxing
Derived from Karate and Muay Thai the style known as Japanese Kickboxing is a dynamic martial art that involves punches, kicks, elbow, knees and standing grappling.
A typical class is suitable for those that wish to learn a practical martial art and also get very fit. This class is suitable for people of all fitness levels, the main requirement is a willingness to achieve.
Class Structure
The class consists of a warm up followed by a structured pads and body weight workout routine.
Sport specific warm-up - 7-9 minutes. Rope jumping or shadow boxing to warm the muscle groups.
Cardio-Segment - Using pads the boxers work technique into a utilization of all muscle groups.
Strength, agility and balance - Push-ups, abdominal . These movements will develop force and speed of the legs, arms and core muscles of the body.
Cool-down - Using lower intensities for the sport specific movements. These movements allow the body to gradually slow and recover from the workout.
Sparring
